Robert L. Huskey is the attorney for Coffee County.  He was reared in Coffee County on the outskirts of Tullahoma.  He attended Tullahoma city schools and graduated in 1963.  Robert began working at age thirteen (13), at York’s Supermarket in Tullahoma where he worked until age sixteen (16) when he got a job as Janitor of Hickerson Station Church of Christ.  He continued that job at Hickerson Station as a second part-time job while attending college.            

Mr. Huskey attended college at Middle Tennessee State University and in the last two years at MTSU was awarded an ROTC scholarship.  During summers and weekends during college, he worked at Lewis Insurance Agency in Tullahoma.  He graduated with Honors in 1967 and obtained a Distinguished Military Graduate delay from active duty to attend law school.  He was awarded a three (3) year full tuition scholarship by Tulane University to attend Tulane School of Law in New Orleans.  He worked during the summers while attending law school at the then Tullahoma Firm of Henry & McCord, Forest & Richardson.  He graduated from Tulane with a Juris Doctor degree in 1970 and entered active duty with the United States Army in the Judge Advocate General’s Court.  He served four (4) years as an Army JAG Officer on active duty.  He remained in the Active Reserves and was called back to active duty in 1990 for Desert Storm.  He retired from the Reserves in 1995 as an L.T.C..           

Upon release from active duty in 1974 he came to Manchester and entered into private practice of law.  For most of his thirty-four (34) years of private practice, he has been a sole practitioner, however, he was joined in practice by his son Jason in 2006 and by his wife Beth in 2007.           

The major focus of his practice is trial work and in his practice he handles essentially all types of litigation with the exception of Bankruptcy.  He is admitted to practice at all level of Courts in the State of Tennessee, Federal Trial Courts, the Sixth (6th) Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, the United States Court of Military Appeals in Washington and the United States Supreme Court in Washington.             

Mr. Huskey is a member of the Hickerson Station Church of Christ.  He is a former member of the Main Street Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon for five (5) years.  He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the F.C. Boyd Christian School in McMinnville from 1990-1996.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Middle Tennessee Christian Foundation, the Governing Body for Middle Tennessee Christian Student Center at MTSU.  He served on the Manchester Board of Mayor and Alderman for three (3) years.  He is a former member and former President of the Manchester Rotary Club and was awarded Citizen of the Year Award for period 1977-1978 by the Manchester Kiwanis Club.           

Robert Huskey has practiced law and resided in Manchester for the past thirty-four (34) years.  He is married to Bethany G. Huskey, (former Bethany G. Winkles).  He has three sons; Jason who lives in Manchester and practices law with is father; Quinton who lives in Hillsboro and is Assistant Manager of the Theater in Tullahoma; and step-son Garrett Sears who is a ninth-grade student at Westwood Junior High.
